Submissions

Submission Guidelines

Judicial Law Review accepts original, unpublished submissions from scholars, students, and practitioners. We publish commentary, essays, articles, case notes, and responses on all areas of American law.

All submissions must be original work not previously published and not currently under review at another publication. Authors must notify Judicial Law Review promptly if a submitted manuscript is accepted elsewhere during the review period.

Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.docx). Citations must conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation. Author-identifying information must be removed from the manuscript file itself; author information is collected separately through this form.

Abstracts must not exceed 200 words. Approximate word counts should reflect the body of the manuscript, exclusive of footnotes. We do not impose a strict word limit, but we note that most published pieces fall between 3,000 and 15,000 words.

The editorial review process typically takes four to six weeks. We will notify all submitting authors of our decision by email. We do not provide detailed feedback on manuscripts we decline to publish.
